Okavango Delta Botswana
"In the same way that you gave me a mission in the world,
I give them a mission in the world."
Missions is the purpose of the church's existence. Jesus was the first missionary.
Everyone that follows Christ is a missionary. The only difference is: You are either a diligent or lazy missionary. There is nothing in between!
According to Operation World this area counts under the 100 less reached groups in the world. It is the home of the Batswana, Mbukushu, Mbarakwena Xeriko, Xanikwe and Bayei tribes. They are sometimes referred to as the most forgotten people of Botswana. Delta Cross Ministries (DCM) started with their ministry in this area in 1996.
How can you get involved?

Willie Booyse is at the helm. He is married to Estelle and they have three daughters. They live in Seronga.
The focus of DCMDCM focus on planting new churches in the different villages. Before a church is planted there has to be a trained pastor/leader and children's worker.
Another focus point is evangelism. Door-to-door visits are made and the wordless book is used to explain the gospel. The "living ball" is also used when the youth is targeted. The Jesus-film is also used. To DCM training is very important. As was mentioned, no church is started without first having a trained pastor and children's worker. Early childhood development also receives attention. Community development focuses on providing food, clothing and HIV support. |
